Achieve goals w/ calendar

Achieve goals w/ calendar

I just read a great article that I thought I should definitely write about. The article is about how to achieve your goals more effectively and how to be more productive using a useful calendar technique.

The main character here is the guy named Brad Isaac who can be found at his personal blog. Brad, to my surprise, happens to be once in the comic business. You know the kind of the stand-on-stage throwing jokes at the group of people. So, one night Brad met at one of the clubs a now-famous comedian, actor and writer Jerry Seinfeld.  Without any hesitation, Brad, knowing that Jerry was really good at being funny on the stage, asked him to give some tips to a young comic like Brad. “I am the Master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul”

Tuesday, October 28, 2008 16:07 No Comments

If you’ve paid close attention to the content of my Blog, you’ve probably noticed that it continually changes (hopefully for good).

If you are attentive enough you have probably seen that the following quote “… I am the Master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul” by Williams Ernest Henley used to be a slogan on this Blog (right below the Blog title).

The reason why I kept it there is because I want to represent a wave of awakening people (those who realize that success in life depends only on people themselves). And now let me tell you why I think it is worth writing a whole new post on this wonderful 14-word quote. Continue reading »

Whole Earth Catalogue

Whole Earth Catalogue

I’ve watched the following video at least 7 times and I did not get tired of watching it because there are so many insightful things in this 14 minute speech (it does not matter if you watch it now or after you read the post. The video is at the bottom of this post).

Without any exaggeration this is by far one of the most inspiring speeches I have ever seen and heard in my life. And now I want to extract important lessons we can all take away from this video presentation.

Be Self-Contained And Communicate Excellently!

As Cameron Johnson said: to succeed you need to “put yourself out there” or in rough language ‘get yourself exposed’.

As I learned from my experience, one of the best ways to put yourself out there and possibility to grow both personally and professionally is through the internship experience, preferably abroad.

I remember almost 4 years ago, I landed an internship in Florida where I was coordinating a fundraising project for the construction of water supply systems for the villages of Tajikistan. Continue reading »

Two Stolen Bikes In Two Months

Sunday, September 21, 2008 0:29 1 Comment

Well, on Friday, in the middle of the day, my brand new bike got stolen at the Odense Central Station. Some really bad people cut the locker on the bike and probably took it for a sale.

The ‘ridiculous’ part is that this is our second brand new bike that gets stolen here in Odense, Fyn, Denmark. The first one was stolen two months ago and it was Tatyana’s means of transportation.

What can I say … I am very disappointed with the fact that there are so many bicycle thieves in Odense. And the sad part is that when reporting to the police I suggested them that they put some 24/7 cameras that would help them find these bad people. Continue reading »

A Free Book That Can Change Your Life - Notes From A Friend by Anthony Robbins

Notes from a friend

Notes from a friend

I just remembered a time back when I started my self-development journey.

It all started for me when I was writing my master thesis as far as I recall. It was hard and challenging to keep myself motivated and continue to write. I needed help. But I guess I was looking not for a thesis counseling but for psychological help because I realized how important it was to establish a better connection with myself.

This was when I began searching on the Internet for some help. I came across this free book “Notes from a friend” by Tony Robbins. I ordered it and sure enough in 10 days I had the book delivered in my postbox. Continue reading »

Desire Without Discipline You End Up Being Depressed

Monday, April 14, 2008 2:15 2 Comments

In case you wondered what I was up to this weekend.

Well, lots of fun things like eating yummy sushi (Tatyana made), looking for a new appartment in Odense (because we are relocating and moving in together with Tatyana) and (WOW) fishing in Middelfart (although no fish was caught it was a lot of fun).

See the photos.

By the way, on the way back to Copenhagen (from Middelfart) I was listening to the teleseminars by Jerry Clark. He was interviewing two of the most successful men of time: Les Brown and Tom Hopkins. Here are few things I took away from them:

* The key to success is really an ability to become self-motivated.

* Success recipe: Learn More > Serve More > Earn More > Save More > Give More

* Desire alone does not account anymore. Desire backed up with discipline is the way to success.

* “Desire without discipline you end up being depressed” (I think it is very powerful and true)

* Do what you fear most

* “Fearing to fail is worse than failure itself”

* (from interview with Les Brown) MIT research has done a study that proved that a negative comment has 16 times a more powerful effect than a positive statement. This means that if somebody tells you something negative or if you’ve heard/seen something negative on the Radio/TV, you have to hear/see/read something positive for 16 times to compensate that ‘damage’.

We live in the world of negativity, we talk about it, we hear and see it everyday. We are the product of negative thinking. We are raised that way. No wonder that 95 procent of all people on the earth will not fulfill their dreams and thus lives. They may “live full but die empty”. Les Brown referred to another successful man who says that the wealthiest place on this earth is not the place with lots of oil or gold or any similar sort of things but the cemetery where people are buried with zillions of dreams, genius ideas, thoughts that they never put in place.

Think about it!
