I am not an internship expert (at least I don’t consider myself as such) but I do know that in order to get your first internship there are 3 things you must live with.

P A S S I O N

If you are passionate about the industry, company, product and so on there are always more chances that you will nail that internship on the head. And that practically applies to any area of your life. Being passionate means that you are unstoppable in pursuing your dream. No going back!

Of course if you don’t know what you are passionate about, it is much more challenging to play one. In this case, I suggest that you stay open and remember if you want something out of life you need to seek that treasure that is awaiting for you to discover it.

Of course experience and competence in your application plays a crucial role. But everyone starts from the beginning. You are not the one, and certainly not the last. You start small and then you take on bigger tasks and grow every single day. But it is important that you live with intention to improve your life, job, relationships etc. every single day. Passion comes to people who are seeking it.

Remember that no matter where you are or what you do if you are persistent enough you will succeed even it sounds too trivial. Just remember that being persistent is not an easy task. Many of us make plans for a better life, yet so few of us actually persist enough to make those plans a reality. Only through persistent mindset you will get what you want. To get your internship (or job, business, improve relationships etc.) will always depend on how ‘bold’ and ’stubborn’ with respect to failures you are.

You know I see people complain about something every single day. People always find something or something to blame. Don’t put yourself in the same position. Say “no” to your evil self, which lives in every one of us, and I gurantee you that you will eventually succeed in anything you do.

Put yourself in the position of a recruter, but this time be as much objective and critical as possible. Just play the devil’s advocate and you will quickly find out what you need to stress to secure your internship. Before you apply write down 5 reasons why you would hire yourself for that position. If you can’t answer that question, you are shooting far. And this is not by any means to discourage you but to encourage you to be realistic with yourself and make wise rather than hasty decisions.

Good luck!
