Much of the difficulty arising from the thesis-writing exercise is psychological rather than technical. To finish your master thesis, you shouldn’t only have the right topic, adviser, method, equipment, reading materials, etc. It is much more important to have the right attitude. Think about it; solutions to technical problems can be found in many books, but if you don’t have the will, the inclination or the patience to look for them, they won’t do you much good. Here are some tips that can help you put yourself in the right frame of mind for thesis writing. Continue reading »
How I Wrote My Master Thesis And Got It Published?
Wednesday, February 13, 2008 14:52 No CommentsYEAH! So many months of hard work paid off well. I GOT MY MASTER THESIS PUBLISHED at the library of Copenhagen Business School (CBS). See it here.
Today, I have got a secret to share and that’s about how to get your Master Thesis done and better yet published.
Let me ask you a question before I begin? Are you familiar with a “Law of Attraction” concept? If you don’t know what the Law is all about. Go ahead and google it (shortcut is here). You will quickly find out that it was the key to how I got my thesis published, that is, how I succeeded and why you should do the same if you want to achieve great results.
To be honest, back then when I was busting my butt off trying to write my thesis and make it sound intriguing and a one-go read, I had no clue what the Law of Attraction was all about. All I knew that I wanted to see my Thesis on the shelves of the CBS’ library.
Every day and anytime I would write something up, be it idea, problem formulation, thesis structure, analysis (paralysis), conclusion and etc. I would clearly picture a CBS student shop through the library and pick my thesis off the library shelf, read it and actually say “… that’s an interesting piece of work”.
Already then, six months before my thesis got published, I clearly visualized what I wanted to accomplish with my thesis. And that’s the Law of Attraction when one pictures what he/she wants and think about it, thus generating positives waves of thought that will eventually lead to, if executed properly, a massive set of action.
I don’t care if you are just starting of have been half way through, or even if you are almost finished with your thesis, it will never be late to speak to your subconsious mind to succeed in anything you do. If every day for 15 minutes you can train the most important muscle of yours, the brain, and pump it up with positive energy, thoughts and clear images of what you want to accomplish, I guarantee you that you will get what you want. Persistence pays off, read the literature and do you research if you feel sceptical.
To your success

Technical checklist
Your master thesis can give you a great sense of accomplishment. There’s pride in contributing something new to the greater body of academic knowledge.
Completing your thesis also means that you can finally gain your Master’s degree and move up in the world. Unfortunately, much of the sense of accomplishment you’ll get when you finish your thesis will come from overcoming great odds. For you see, completing a thesis easily falls under the category of “things easier said than done.” Continue reading »
Internship Tips - How Can I Land My Internship?
Friday, February 1, 2008 19:05 No CommentsI am not an internship expert (at least I don’t consider myself as such) but I do know that in order to get your first internship there are 3 things you must live with.
P A S S I O N
If you are passionate about the industry, company, product and so on there are always more chances that you will nail that internship on the head. And that practically applies to any area of your life. Being passionate means that you are unstoppable in pursuing your dream. No going back!
Of course if you don’t know what you are passionate about, it is much more challenging to play one. In this case, I suggest that you stay open and remember if you want something out of life you need to seek that treasure that is awaiting for you to discover it.
Of course experience and competence in your application plays a crucial role. But everyone starts from the beginning. You are not the one, and certainly not the last. You start small and then you take on bigger tasks and grow every single day. But it is important that you live with intention to improve your life, job, relationships etc. every single day. Passion comes to people who are seeking it.
P E R S I S T E N C E
Remember that no matter where you are or what you do if you are persistent enough you will succeed even it sounds too trivial. Just remember that being persistent is not an easy task. Many of us make plans for a better life, yet so few of us actually persist enough to make those plans a reality. Only through persistent mindset you will get what you want. To get your internship (or job, business, improve relationships etc.) will always depend on how ‘bold’ and ’stubborn’ with respect to failures you are.
You know I see people complain about something every single day. People always find something or something to blame. Don’t put yourself in the same position. Say “no” to your evil self, which lives in every one of us, and I gurantee you that you will eventually succeed in anything you do.
M I N D S E T
Put yourself in the position of a recruter, but this time be as much objective and critical as possible. Just play the devil’s advocate and you will quickly find out what you need to stress to secure your internship. Before you apply write down 5 reasons why you would hire yourself for that position. If you can’t answer that question, you are shooting far. And this is not by any means to discourage you but to encourage you to be realistic with yourself and make wise rather than hasty decisions.
Good luck!
How To Write A Master Thesis - The Birth Of MasterYourThesis.com
Wednesday, January 30, 2008 22:22 No CommentsOnly a while ago I was sitting in front of my computer trying to finish my thesis. While the knowledge of strategies, tools and methodologies was extremely crucial to my thesis writing it is only now I realize that the mindset played even more important role to accomplish the task. And by mindset I mean a “state of mind” or the psychology.
Many people, including master students, postpone on so many things in their lives. This has been and is a universal decease and a bottlebeck for many of us to realize our potential including plans and dreams. In fact it is eroding and devastating.
With the passage of time, our self-confidence diminishes and we lose that self-connection with ourselves that is the fundamental “secret” of all successful people known to a mankind.
Having graduated from the Business School in Copenhagen and now full-time employed by an IT firm (where I work as a Senior Analyst). However, I consider myself entrepreneurial, which is why I decided to found MasterYourThesis.com that is essentially a help guide to students who are writing or about to start writing their theses.
Now, MasterYourThesis.com is still a kind of service that will discuss and cover techniques and tools needed for the superiour technical performance of thesis writing. However, I strongly believe that without a discipline or personal development part so to speak we are doomed to accomplish any task not to mention a thesis. In fact I’ learned that a lack of motivation or discipline as well as shortage of awareness of the subconscious mind many of us get steered away and eventually get so disappointed with oneself.
At the moment, we offer our subscribers e-zines. At the same time we are working on the number of other services which we believe will play a vital role during their writing process.
MasterYourThesis was born to make students’ life a bit easier and smoother before they enter the job market. To learn more go to MasterYourThesis.com
5 Key Things For Your First Job
Monday, December 24, 2007 2:05 No CommentsHere are the 5 key things you need to rememeber while searching for your first job.
1. Prepare CV - Polish your CV so that the employer you’re applying for is sure that you are the right candidate. Remember, you need to get through the first round. At this stage don’t think to get the job, think how to get through the first round - application round. There are two main CV types such as chronological and functional or skills-based. For your first job I’d recommend a chronological CV.
2. Cover Letter - Do your research on the company you’re seeking to get a job at. There are two ways: solicited and unsolicited applications. If are applying for an open/advertised position be specific in your cover letter what value you will be able to bring to the company. Back it up with your former experience and/or academic backgrond.
3. Apply Every Day - It is important that you treat your job search process as a full time job i.e. you have to spend hours on research, writing cover letters and refining CV. I would recommend that you send through at least 3 job applications every day be it solicited or unsolicited.
4. Expand Network - During the job search you have to turn on your consciousness and try to take16 advantage of your both strong ties (family, close friends etc.) and weak ties (e.g. acquaintances, friendss friends etc.). Don’t be afraid of telling them that you are looking for a job by asking if they know anyone currently recruiting. This statement “It is not what you know, it is who you know” very often proves right.
5. Job Fairs - Attend as many as possible job fairs and stay active within the industry you’re seeking your first job. Speak with companies reps and ask relevant questions that you may want to prepare in advance. Ask them what they like their job for, what is the culture like etc.
Good luck!
What Growing Has To Do With Studying or Working Abroad
Thursday, September 27, 2007 14:41 No CommentsWhat Growing Has To Do With Studying or Working Abroad
By Vladimir Chen
Some of you may be wondering what “Growing” has to do with going abroad. You may think: Oh, I just want to study abroad or work abroad; why should I care about growing anyway? Well, the answer is simple. To achieve anything in your life regardless of area of life be it being accepted at one highly-ranked college or getting a job of your dream you need to strive to develop or grow both personally, emotionally and professionally. You may realize it sooner or later, but why wait if I can show you here that it directly influences your chances to secure a good position at a company or a spot at the college of your dreams?
It is not surprising that individuals who seek abroad experiences tend to succeed in their careers more compared to their peers who don’t. They simply tend to explore more, for instances, inner self, other cultures, others’ values and so on. In other words, these experiences broaden their horizon, and this is how they develop personally. So, one way to grow personally is by modeling others who have vast amount of experience that can save you a lot of time, money and effort. Quoting my mentor “Don’t try to reinvent the wheel”, follow shortcuts by consulting with those who have gone through similar experience you are seeking.
I personally think that success begins at changing personal attitudes or some may also call them “strong beliefs”. Without exhibiting a “go-getter” attitude, it will be much more difficult and perhaps more time-consuming for you to succeed in professional or academic careers. Therefore, if you have not started to work on yourself, it is about the right time.
Let me give you a specific example. There are some important things in our lives most of us tend to procrastinate on. For instance, if I know that I need to work on my project sometimes I simply can’t help but put it off. This is called procrastination. Every person on this earth procrastinates to some extent. But the beauty of this fact is that some people procrastinate on the things they should not because there are important, while others put aside things they should i.e. less important activities.
In other words, some of us are able to clearly discern what is important and what it is not. Important things may be, for example, completing a project, finishing a book/article, researching on a school, spending quality time with your significant other etc., while unimportant things are those activities that usually create hindrances for us to focus on what’s of more priority.
Being able to prioritize your activities and take actions upon such a prioritization will play an enormous role in becoming successful in your professional endeavors, and not only. You will very soon realize why this correlation is a no-brainer. Good luck!
