Dr. Seligman's approach sounds interesting. I just checked out his interviews with BBC on YouTube and he talks about optimism as being one component of the positive psychology. It is true, especially when he supports it with some hard facts from the study that proves that optimistic people normally live 9 years longer than pessimistic folks. Anyways, are you familiar with Echkart's Tolle book "A New Earth". Try to read it. It is very interesting too. In it, and as discussed at the webinar with Oprah, he says that it is not only about being a positive thinker, but also and more importantly about your ego. Positive thinking comes and goes, but if one is aware of ego or self-conscious that's really when the strength comes in. It is deep and but of course should be treated as yet another approach. (btw, surely I will contact you when I'm in Århus. Should be writing more on your wall).

Do you remember Ernst from ATS? Well, he was basically doing the same to us.

It's also about saying " Yes and!" Mind you, its also important to set limits, so you don't overwhelm your senses and provoke your value system in a way, which makes it difficult for individuals to recognize themselves. In the same way that we can trick and manipulate our minds to believe that we are not capable of reaching our goals and dreams, so is the potential to manipulate our mindset to believe that we can actually succeed with our inner dreams to create a holistic sound meaningful life.

Try reading more about the subject at Professor Martin Seligman's site:
